My vision
At the end of 2020, my dream grew to begin selling my handmade pottery, which I had only used for myself or friends. I suddenly felt a strong desire to find out whether other people would also like my creations. So it has become my vision to bring joy and conjure a piece of beauty into people's lives. With my products, I want you as my collectors to get an insight into my understanding of aesthetics and to feel that there is loving and tender handwork behind it. I create pieces that you can use for cosy dinners with good friends, beautiful flowers and delicious tea or coffee. They are supposed to be appreciated and embellish your everyday life with their essence of beauty.
The name 'collecting shells' represents my desire to create something delicate, exquisite and graceful that protects precious things. My bowls protect lovely food and delicious drinks, just like the seashell protects the pearl. Seashells have always fascinated me because of their mysterious, beautiful and naturally formed entity. They are the symbol of femininity and, in many legends, symbolise the goddess of love, Venus and Aphrodite. Oh, and how varying shells can be, marked by nature, malleable and always different! So are my products - unique, lovingly diverse and valuable in themselves. Moreover, seashells evoke memories. They store the smell of the ocean and the sound of the waves. I remember a ritual in Polynesia where you receive a seashell-necklace to remind you forever of all the experiences, the enrichment you experienced, and at the same time acts as the guide back to the island when you leave it. Like that, my products can remind you of all the beautiful memories you experienced while using them.
